Entries for South Africa's biggest mountain bike race, the Cape Argus Pick n Pay MTB Challenge, are still pouring in. Organisers have therefore decided to extend the closing date to Monday 15 February. Entries are limited, so those still wishing to secure an entry are advised not to delay. Please note no late entries will be accepted after the cut-off date. "We have revised the MTB Challenge for this year. The shorter races - the 13km and 26km - will now take place on Saturday 6 March. Especially the 13km route is ideal for parents to tackle with their youngsters. The longer races, the 35km and 55km, are on Sunday 7 March," says Meurant Botha, co-organiser of the MTB Challenge. Saturday's 13km is suited to youngsters and less experienced riders. "There will be additional water stops along the 13km route and volunteers will be on-hand to assist with things like flat tyres or broken chains," Botha concluded. The 2010 MTB Challenge returns to the magnificent Boschendal Wine Estate for the eight consecutive year. Riders van enter online by visiting the MTB Challenge website.
