The ever-increasing popularity of gsport ... for Girls! during December exceeded our wildest dreams, with the most individual people visiting the gsport … for Girls! website in our short but eventful history.

During the December issue of gsport, we chose CELEBRATION as our theme of the month, and featured Water Sports in a variety of fun and exciting formats.

We hope that you enjoyed reading about four women doing it for themselves, in typical South African summer-loving fashion.

In gsport's first December feature, 14-year-old surfer Tanika Hoffman wasn’t taking surfing lying down, as she faced up to some of the country's hottest female action in surf competition throughout the summer's surfing season all over SA's coastlines.

Next up Neerasha Kalicharan told us what it's like to be a lifeguard in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal, while juggling her Industrial Psychology studies at the same time.

Internationally-acclaimed canoeist Abbey Miedema talked through the matters on her mind, while preparing for yet another Dusi Canoe Marathon in the New Year, talking about life, love, and everything that keeps her heading for the white water.

GustMag.com editor and kiteboarding enthusiast Janet Lightbody got 'amped' as she describes her love for the wind in the waves, as she prepared to lift off, in the water, and in her business.

And finally, gsport's regular motivational writer Michele Wolhuter was back on duty after a month’s break, and we were delighted with her article discussing the December theme, Celebration, as she brought the heart of the matter into clear consideration.
