The first thing I do each morning when I wake up, is to dial into yfm (one of my favourite new morning radio stations), and there she is: Pabi, phat, baby, phat! 

Yes, we know nobody talks like that anymore, except for Pabi when she's having a rip in the morning :)

gsport got together with Pabi a few days ago, and this is how she answered our questions: 

How are you enjoying your stint as host of Yfm’s breakfast show, Y’d Awake?
It’s been a rush since it began. I have learned a heck of a lot about myself and about people relations. I love radio ten times more these days.

What other projects are you working on?
I’m currently working on a tv show soon to begin on SABC Three- Out of the Box. I’m also always working on my music. I write all the time and I’m back in vocal training and I’m loving it.

How would you define your style?
Understated elegance. I’m not interested in expensive labels or  fashion trends. I love classic cuts, timeless pieces and comfort. I enjoy shoes very much though. Fads are cool when it comes to shoes because shoes are fun and games.

Where do you shop for clothes?
Pretty much everywhere. I don’t enjoy shopping very much so I only shop for events. Every now and then I’ll decide I need a heap of jerseys or trousers so I’ll go on a mission to do so.

Would you ever consider launching a range of clothing?
Definitely. I’ve been in talks with two big clothing stores and the perfect relationship hasn’t come together yet. It’s an ambition I have.

The strangest outfit you’ve ever worn?
I used to wear a red jumpsuit. Kind of a baby grow for adults… I thought I was so hip!

Favourite item of clothing?
I have a tye dye dress from the nineties which I just adore. I still wear it and it is the most sexy and comfortable thing I own. 

Favourite South African designer?
Craig Native, Palesa of Brutal Couture, David Tlale are amongst my favourite.

Who is your style icon?
For the funky edge I like Gwen Stefani and Tamara Dey. I also love old classic Jacky O and also Mirriam Makeba of old. The Sof’town era was magical with fashion. I own plenty of my grandmother’s old clothes from that era.

Favourite music?
Soul, funk, hip hop and kwaito.

Favourite food?
I’d eat sushi everyday, all day if I could...

18 January – I’m Capricorn!

Favourite actor?
Pamela Nomvete, Catherine Zeta Jones and Morgan Freeman.

Favourite colour?
Purple.
