It was a case of the number one-seeds Madri le Roux and Welma Luus winning their respective age-group finals for the U18 and U16 girls at the recent Slazenger Classic Junior Tennis Tournament in Cape Town, while contenders Lee Barnard and Theresa van Zyl claimed the tour age-groups championships in the U12 and U14 age-groups respectively.

The curtain came down on the R1-million ITF Soweto Open women's tennis tournament Sunday, and fourth seed Anastasia Sevastova of Latvia beat eighth seed Eva Hrdinova of the Czech Republic 6-2 6-2 in the final. It was a disappointing showdown for the inaugural title but Sevastova was a proud winner of the trophy after just 50 minutes.
